Wisdom of Cancer

Wednesday, April 18, 2018 - 8:30pm - 9:30pm

A Community Group that meets every Wednesday evening at 8:30 pm, facilitated by Rev. Dr. Noel McInnis.

Life is like a game of cards.
The hand we are dealt is determinism.
How we play it is free will.
~Jawalharlal Nehru~
Wisdom includes the knowledge of how to make constructive use of every life experience, so that none of one's experience goes to waste. Persons who are currently experiencing cancer, or who have formerly experienced cancer, or who are in relationship with others who are currently experiencing cancer, are all blessed with the potential wisdom of embracing their mortality from the perspective of their immortality.
Realizing this wisdom's potential - literally making it the primary reality of our experience - is the focus of this Community Group, rather than merely focusing on cancer itself. High quality longevity is our intended outcome as we share with one another our present and/or past experiencing of cancer, whether within ourselves or in others who are dear to us, from the perspective of our being far greater than any of our experiences.

Rev. Noel was a member of NTCSL's founding Interim Board, and has served ever since as its Chaplain, attending all but a handful of meetings since the founding summer of 2004. He has participated in teaching NTCSL's "Foundations" and other accredited courses, and regularly offers self-transformational seminars on New Thought 3.0, such as "Constructive Self-Dominion," "Claiming Your Immortality," and currently, "Flow Where Your Heart Says 'Grow!'"

Trained at Northwestern University in journalism (undergraduate) and the history of ideas (all-but-dissertation Ph.D.), Rev. Noel is a doctorate minister of Religious Science, ordained in 1989. Since the mid-1960's he has immersed himself in ongoing studies of consciousness, spiritual metaphysics, contemporary cosmology, systems theory, ecology, transpersonal psychology and psychotherapy, shamanic and other subtle energetics, and numerous additional integral perspectives, all the while sharing and applying his learning in a variety of college, university, editorial and ministerial settings. He has authored or co-authored several books on the bridging of science and spirit, and is currently co-authoring a book with the working title, THE WHAT WORKS CODE: The Science of Causing Outcomes, and another book with the working title, SURFING THE PARADIGM SHIFT: Waving the "I" of the Beholder.

Prior to Rev. Noel's ministerial studies, from the late 1960's to mid-1970's he was among the co-founders of the North American environmental education movement. While studying for the ministry and serving several CSL's (then called "Churches of Religious Science"), he was the managing editor of Marilyn Ferguson's BRAIN/MIND BULLETIN (1980-1983),and subsequently of Barbara Marx Hubbard's 1600-page manuscript, THE BOOK OF CO-CREATION, and of her 1993 book, THE REVELATION: Our Crisis Is a Birth.

From 1985-2002, Rev. Noel was variously the founding, senior or associate pastor of several CSL's. He is a former columnist for Science of Mind magazine, and from 1979 to 1996 was a faculty member of the Ernest Holmes School of Ministry (now Ernest Holmes Institute), teaching New Thought related courses in science, mysticism, philosophy, and ethics on its campuses in Los Angeles, Huntington Beach, San Diego, San Jose, Denver, and Seattle.
