Workshop: "The Human MicroBiome: Tending Your Inner Garden"

Sunday, August 20, 2017 - 1:30pm - 3:30pm

A One-Day Workshop with Gaia Mather, ND.

The MicroBiome is the term used to describe the sum total of all the microbial organisms that inhabit the human body. This area of study is perhaps the most rapidly expanding field in medicine today. Naturopathic physicians have been helping people to tend their "inner garden" for over 100 years. Everyone can make simple dietary and lifestyle changes that can improve their overall health by changing their body's gut flora.
It turns out that we have more microbial than human cells. We now know that the MicroBiome is responsible for proper immune development, blood sugar balance, nutrient absorption in the body as well as normal brain functioning. Bacteria in our body even influence our mood and our thoughts. This could be the link between how changing our thoughts changes our overall health.
Participants in this workshop will:
…..Learn why a health MicroBiome is essential to good health.
…..Learn ways to "tend the inner garden" and improve health though diet,
lifestyle and supplementation.
…..Learn about this rapidly expanding field of medical research and its
discoveries.
…..Find out how our gut flora affects our thinking and our moods.
