Rev. David Finley Alexander, senior minister at New Thought Center for Spiritual Living (NTCSL) has been awarded an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from the Centers for Spiritual Living. Everyone is invited to attend a special ceremony and celebration honoring this life achievement. The ceremony will be in the Sanctuary, followed by a reception inFellowship Hall.
Presiding at this special occasion will be Rev. Dr. Kenn Gordon of the Centers for Spiritual Living, Golden, Colorado and Bishop Yvette Flunder of the City of Refuge United Church of Christ in San Francisco.
Also in attendance will be twenty four visiting clergy from across the country, and twenty four Religious Science Licensed Practitioners, who will begin the evening’s ceremony with a procession.
Music will be plentiful and provided by the NTCSL Choir, The New Thought Messengers Band, musical artists Laura Berman, Rev. Andy Anderson, Portland’s renowned LaRhonda Steele, and New Thought recording artist Jami Lula.
Explore unexamined, self-limiting beliefs, stereotypes and assumptions about aging and make better, more conscious choices about our worldviews on aging;
Develop self-compassion to cope more effectively with change, worry, and stresses associated with aging;
Discover and reflect on what has given heart and meaning to our lives and how that informs our intentions for our aging process;
Enhance connection and reduce isolation from others and the web of life by understanding our shared humanity in the aging process;
Reduce fear and increase acceptance in the presence of death and dying for ourselves and for our loved ones.
The workshop will focus on listening to our own inner wisdom and guidance, integrating Talking Points and best practices, sharing in intimate conversation circles, and listening to the collective wisdom of the group.
