"Courage Through Connection With Spirit" at 7:00 pm

A Special Taize Service presented by the Young Adult Ministry.

A Taize service includes: Silence, Candlelight, Readings, Prayer, Meditation and Repetitive song or chanting.
The origins of Taize began in a little village in Burgundy France over 60 years ago, when Brother Roger Shultz founded a community devoted to prayer and living a parable of reconciliation with the church and within the human family. Thus, the Taize service is inclusive and ecumenical with persons of all faiths being invited.

Lauri Jones is a multi-dimensional artist with a diverse professional background, having performed in regional theatres, jazz clubs, pop and dance bands, on cruise ships, and as a back-up singer on a variety of major label recordings. She holds a Masters in Music from the Boston Conservatory.

Over the past several years, Lauri has been primarily focused on performing and writing music that reflects her deepening spirituality, in large part thanks to the teachings and community of New Thought Center for Spiritual Living. After a wonderfully supported Kickstarter campaign, she released her first studio album in that realm ("Walk Your Life") in 2015, joining forces with partner and co-producer Eric Montgomery, with whom she also has a piano/percussion/vocal duo called Montgomery Jones.

Lauri is currently celebrating the release of her 2nd inspirational album "Watch Love Rise", a collection of mostly live performances (captured right here at NTCSL) with an eye on love, compassion, and unity in these particularly trying and divisive times. She has been enjoying sharing her music in spiritual centers and a variety of other venues, conferences, and retreats in the greater Pacific Northwest and beyond. Lauri also has an album from her cruise ship days called "Have You Met Miss Jones", a collection of jazz/cabaret tunes from her one-woman show of the same name.
