Shelly Walker’s life focus is prayer and family. After moving to Portland from Texas in the year 2000, Shelly discovered New Thought and her passion about life lived well. As a teacher, speaker, workshop facilitator and spiritual guidance Practitioner, Shelly helps others to empower themselves to access Truth within to help transform, uplift, and renew. When the inner work is done, then the fun begins of helping to make the world a better place - for ourselves, each other and, always, the children.

Service, prayer, tithing and community, with a focus on Love and Spirit, are the foundations of Shelly’s practice. She is honored to serve New Thought Center for Spiritual Living as a licensed Practitioner of Religious Science.

Featured Musician

Tasha Flynn is a singer/songwriter and pianist since age ten and a graduate of Portland State University's music department. She has written arrangements and compositions for choir, woodwinds, cello/piano duet, and piano solo. As an M.Ed, she has taught piano and voice in Portland, OR for the last 15 years. In 2011 Tasha released an EP w/ her band Tasha Flynn Band, her first endeavor onto the jazz/pop/rock performance scene.

She began attending NTCSL in the Spring of 2013, soon after a tragic event that affected her personally and inspired a period of deep reflection, questioning, realigning with spirit/priorities. Letting go of all previous concepts of faith/relationships/identity Tasha's awakening is reflected in her more current lyrics. She is grateful for the opportunity to share music from this place and feels blessed to be a part of the community at NTCSL.

"

I embody the principles of New Thought in my everyday life and it makes such a positive difference in all that I do and all that I touch -- in my counseling practice and in my spiritual practitioner practice.

"

It's important to me that our community both "reaches in" and "reaches out"--deepening our direct spiritual experience of Oneness so that connection with and service to the wider world come easily
