Michael Paul Smith will perform a tribute to Dr. King with musical inspirations, highlighting many little known facts, music which inspired him, and several of the important inspirational leaders in his life. Michael has traveled throughout the world, performing opera, gospel, sacred music, Negro Spirituals, jazz and musical theater. Michael’s highly acclaimed tribute to the life of the iconic Paul Robeson, and a narrative and musical tribute to the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., are just two of the many specialized concerts, speaking engagements and holiday events he regularly writes and performs for city gatherings, churches and spiritual communities.

Featured Musician: Michael Paul Smith and Gary Skye

Michael Paul Smith began his music career at a young age, performing at Founders Center for Spiritual Living in Los Angeles, the first Religious Science Center. There he became a featured soloist, honed his unique vocal style, and later became a Practitioner. He studied music at Cal State Northridge and at UCLA. Michael has traveled throughout the world, performing opera, gospel, sacred music, Negro Spirituals, jazz and musical theater. Recently, Michael released a 6th C.D. of jazz and love songs, and performed for the SOAR CSL Conference at Skamania Washington. He created and performed a Black History Celebration Concert for the City of Oceanside this past February. He performed with the iconic soprano Kathleen Battle for her “Underground Railroad, A Spiritual Journey”. Michael’s highly acclaimed tribute to the life of the iconic Paul Robeson, and a narrative and musical tribute to the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., are just two of the many specialized concerts, speaking engagements and holiday events he regularly writes and performs for city gatherings, churches and spiritual communities.
Michael’s vocal style has evolved away from the years of classical training and he is currently enjoying the performance of diverse musical styles as well as producing and writing original material. Michael currently resides in North County San Diego and often, Kihei, Maui.
