She is the Founder of the UK Spiritual Crisis Network (SCN), which gained charitable status in 2009. Catherine is also an accredited Mindfulness Trainer. Clients have included the UK National Health Service and the Ministry of Defense, working with soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

Mary Hayes Grieco is a respected spiritual teacher based in the Minneapolis, Minnesota. An original and expansive thinker, a pragmatic emotional healer, and an uplifting public speaker, Mary has inspired thousands of people since she first began teaching spirituality classes in 1982. Currently she is the director and lead trainer of The Midwest Institute for Forgiveness Training, and the author of Unconditional Forgiveness A Simple and Proven Method to Forgive Everyone and Everything,published by Simon & Schuster.

Mary has worked on the faculty of Hazelden Renewal Center for sixteen years from 1996-2008 as a spiritual retreat leader for people in recovery from addiction who are seeking spiritual growth and healing. From 1996 - 2003 she taught courses in the spirituality of the work place at The Management Center at the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. She has been the featured keynote speaker at a number of conferences, serving organizations that are fostering a spirit of wellness and positive community in their company culture.

Mary thinks of herself as a philosopher and healer, and a lover of God in ordinary things. She is dedicated to liberating the joy of the human spirit and participating fully in what she perceives to be the birth of a new humanity.

Senior Pastor of City of Refuge

Bishop Flunder founded the City of Refuge United Church of Christ in 1991 in order to unite a gospel ministry with a social ministry. City of Refuge is a thriving inner-city congregation that celebrates the radically inclusive love of Jesus Christ. Preaching a message of action, the church has experienced steady numerical and spiritual growth and is now located in the south of Market area of San Francisco at 1025 Howard Street.

A native San Franciscan, Bishop Flunder is a third generation preacher with roots in the Church of God in Christ. She was licensed in the COGIC and later ordained by the Bishop Walter Hawkins of Love Center Ministries where she served as Associate Pastor and administrator for the Oakland-based Love Center Church. In 1984 Bishop Flunder began performing and recording with “Walter Hawkins and the Family” and the Love Center Choir. Other gospel music recordings include “There’s Power “with the City of Refuge Praise Ensemble, “We Won’t Be Silent Anymore” with The Fellowship Mass Choir, and “How Sweet the Sound”, with the Grammy Award winning Chanticleer.

Bishop Flunder is also an ordained Minister of the United Church of Christ and a graduate of the Ministry Studies and Master of Arts programs at the Pacific School of Religion, Berkeley, California. She received a Doctor of Ministry degree from San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo California.

In June 2003 Bishop Flunder was consecrated Presiding Bishop of The Fellowship a multi-denominational fellowship of 110 primarily African American Christian leaders and laity representing 56 churches and faith-based organizations from all parts of the United States Mexico and Africa.

Will Coleman, Ph.D. is a theologian and teacher of Biblical spirituality. He was born and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee.
After completing his Bachelor of Arts degree in religion at Rhodes College in Memphis, he moved to Decatur, Georgia in order to attend Columbia Theological Seminary. There he received his
Master of Divinity degree, with a focus in theology. A few years later, he went on to receive his Doctorate of Philosophy degree ("with distinction") from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California. His areas of concentration were in philosophical and systematic theology, philosophy of religion and interpretation theory. He teaches and tutors individuals and
groups in a variety of contexts in the areas of theology and Biblical spirituality (in English, Hebrew and Greek).

Rev. Casey Moffett-Chaney

Senior Minister for Step 11

Rev. Casey Moffett-Chaney is the Senior Minister for Step 11 - A Spiritual Growth Community located in SE Portland. She was licensed and ordained a New Thought minister in 1992 and, together with her wife, Rev. Berdell Moffett-Chaney, founded the Portland Center for Spiritual Growth. After 17 years, Casey & Berdell took a 2 year sabbatical and made a decision to refocus their ministry. Step 11, designed to augment 12-Step meetings with a church that uses 12-Step terminology, is the result. Casey's passion is metaphysically interpreting the bible and other works of ancient wisdom during her talks, and she loves adding 12-Step literature into the mix.

Casey received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music and taught instrumental and choral music in the public schools for 10 years prior to studying for the ministry. She plays guitar and French horn, sings, and on occasion, writes songs. Along with her ministry, Casey's various endeavors have included computer consultation & program design, fundraising for non-profits, relationship counseling, directing community choirs, and flipping homes. She is a published author of self-help books, and she recently invented a cat product that is now being sold online nationwide.

Casey is an avid dragon boat racer, racquetball and squash player, loves biking around Portland with Berdell, learned to rock wall climb, and just acquired a unicycle. Along with these activities, Casey & Berdell are accomplished ball room dancers. They have one adult son, Corey, who is engaged to be married, and who runs the sound for Step 11.

Rev. Frederick Patchen

Frederick Arthur Patchen was born in Pennsylvania on December 5, 1941. By the time he graduated from the 12th grade he had attended 13
different schools across the United States. He graduated high school and one college in Sacramento California. His continuing education saw
him attending four more colleges and ministerial school in California.

Frederick was a Division Manager for Sears when he was 24, opened his own business when he was 30, and became a minister of his first pulpit when he was 38. After nine years and serving in four pulpits Frederick left organized religion on a personal quest for a deeper understanding of how life expresses itself through us.

Now with over 30 years experience in working with people Frederick has successfully lived for more than the past 20 years with no outside income other than the love offerings he receives from this work. He is an advocate of individuality and the individual’s personal relationship with the Universal Mind of God.

My Commitment
My purpose in working with others is a simple intent to give them tools that will empower them to have a more powerful, creative, and positive life.

Dr. Miller served as Associate Professor and Director of the Cybernetic Systems Program at San Jose State University and as Director of Curriculum & Evaluation for Rogue Community College. She has led countless workshops on new paradigms, systems thinking and futures research, and has served as adjunct faculty at Antioch University-Seattle, Marylhurst University, Portland State University, as well as the Living Enrichment Institute, and New West Seminary.
