What is New Thought?
New Thought is a spiritual movement that began in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. NTCSL is part of a branch of New Thought, started by Ernest Holmes in 1953, called Religious Science. The New Thought movement includes a loosely allied group of organizations, authors, and philosophers who share a core set of metaphysical beliefs. These beliefs include:
- Consciousness is abundantly creative
- Consciousness corresponds to thought
- The result of this relationship is manifestation
New Thought churches promote a spiritually-centered way of living that embraces the wisdom of all the major religious traditions. New Thought is committed to personal, communal and global healing through individual spiritual practice and compassionate activism.
