Kevin Buckingham-Hayes was an original member of the New Thought Ministries of Oregon which became New Thought Center for Spiritual Living after affiliation with Centers for Spiritual Living. Kevin has been active member serving on the Greeter aka Hug Team, the Facilities-Maintenance Team and was elected to the Board of Trustees around 2008. He served as President during the search and the purchase of the Center and for the first few years of settling in. Kevin returned to the Board in January 2019 and has been serving as President since August 2020. Kevin has taken Foundations class and Financial Freedom twice along with other workshops and classes.
At this time we are in one of most significant year of changes related to Covid-19 and it’s aftermath. Kevin commits to continuing his Board service as the community moves through this time of change. He values loyalty, continuity, and collaboration as he works with his fellow board members to best serve the needs of this spiritual community.
Jack Dalton states: “I can honestly say the way I show up in the world today has been greatly shaped by the people, classes, and service I have shared with the New Thought communities I have been a part of over the last 25 years.”
For Jack, serving on the Board of NTCSL has been such a great honor and remains a profound privilege. He is continually reminded, through being in the presence of the other Trustees over the years, and showing up in service in the community, just how amazing it can be to share a common goal with others that allows space for the highest and greatest individual expressions of Spirit to emerge. We all share in a tremendous experience of grace, power, authenticity, and love – AND he knows we have many more opportunities to discover how these gifts will emerge in new and ever-expanding ways in our community!! That is his prayer in serving on our Board of Trustees.
Barbara Jennings-Garant recently retired from a 41-year career in nursing. She spent 16 of those years as a nurse manager and maintains licensure as a clinical nurse specialist post-retirement.
Barb moved to Oregon from the East Coast with her daughter and parents in 1986. She found New Thought in 1993 at LEC and is a founding community member at NTCSL. In 2017, Barb became a Licensed Spiritual Practitioner. She served in many volunteer roles at LEC and since coming to Lake Oswego in 2010, has served as the Clean as a Whistle team lead, Hospitality team lead, and on the Bulletin and Greeter Teams. She has also been a ministry assistant, teaching assistant, and recorded minutes for the Finance Committee.
Barb has always had a passionate interest in supporting the mission and vision of any organization where she is a member. Accountability to the community is important. From her life’s work in nursing comes her desire to always give people a voice in the organization. Now, she feels called to serve on the NTCSL Board. She has learned that when she has a God nudge, not to question it. It is her intention to hold the high watch for our Communities’ Spiritual Principles and Values in this role.
