Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are love in motion!

Below is a list of open volunteer opportunities that existed prior to Covid. The Center has been closed since March 2020 and remains closed. Our Sunday Services are happening outside, in our rear parking lot, aka our Outdoor Sanctuary. We have need for volunteers in certain areas. For more information, please contact our office manager at office@newthoughtcsl.org or fill out a  volunteer information request form

Board of Trustees: Serving as a board member is one of the most challenging and rewarding volunteer assignments. It is a call to service at a very high level.  For more information, click here.

Bookstore: Volunteer as a bookstore cashier. It’s a fun way to see the new product and meet congregants. Openings are for Wednesday evenings 8:00-8:45pm, and for Sundays after service. Contact Carolyn at : office@newthoughcsl.org.

Bookstore Audio Team: Join our audio team one Sunday per month, 11:00am-12:00pm. We duplicate CD copies of our Sunday and Wednesday services. Contact Carolyn at: office@newthoughtcsl.org.

Count Team: Tuesdays from 10:30am-12:00pm (can be a rotating shift). Assist with counting mail-in contributions and processing all other payments for bank deposit. Elaine Jacobson is the lead.

Décor Assistant: We are looking for someone to asset in the décor and design activities in Fellowship Hall and all special events. Wendy Odiaga is the lead.

Finance Committee: This committee is responsible for overseeing the annual church budget, reviewing monthly financial reports and making recommendation on major expenditure to the Board of Trustees. Shelly Walker is the lead.

Grounds Team: We’d love to have new members join our Grounds Leadership team. We meet 2nd Wednesday of each month from 5:30-7:30pm. Helping hands are always welcome the last Saturday of each month (listed in the e-bulletin) from 10:00am-2:00pm. Pam Lamb is the lead.

Hospitality Team: We have opening for the 10am Sunday Service and every 5th Sunday after the service. Christophe Stickel is the lead.

HUG Team: The H.U.G. Team is welcoming new or returning volunteers! This is a wonderful way to enjoy the service while being in service to your community. We have an opening for a greeter on the first Sunday of the month and two openings for Wednesdays. Gayle Sherman is the lead.

Leaf Blower Engineer: We are looking for two more people who would be willing to be part of the Leaf Blowing team. If you get your meditation on to the sound of leaf blowing and you are soul-satisfied by bringing chaos to order, can you give an occasion Saturday morning or afternoon? Pam Lamb is the lead.

Loving Home Team: To help Mary Kinghorn and the facilities staff on keeping our beloved center sparking clean, tidy and ready for services. Monday or Thursday would be a blessing.

Welcome Ambassador: do you enjoy greeting and talking to people? We would like volunteers after the Sunday service to be in our Welcome Center to meet and assist newcomers. Laura Schlafly is the lead.

Youth and Family: Back to School, Back to Church. Working with our youth is a rewarding experience. Our Youth and Family ministry is desiring teachers and volunteers to assist on Sunday mornings. Sarah Forbes, RScP is the lead.
